Happy black history month 2015 day 2 Chimamanda Ngozie

It’s not every critically aclaimed Nigerian author that gets sampled by Queen Beyoncé. But her ted talk “we should all be feminists” is spreading feminism further across the world. This talk is now a published book and a great short read. Watch here https://youtu.be/hg3umXU_qWc

B is just giving her a helping hand via “flawless” in that complex way that feminism works. If you haven’t read “Americanah”, “Purple Hibiscus” or “Half a yellow Sun” I strongly suggest you do. Did I mention that I also met her the day before my pgce interview and almost swooned? It’s my birthday today and it’s only right I celebrate an author who writes so powerfully on race politics, gender and the history of Nigeria.
